For the past 14 months I have quietly been serving as one of the main editors at a non-profit journalism center called the American Media Institute. It produces, among other things, a straight-news “wire service” with interesting stories hard to find elsewhere — see here — and specializes even more in excellent investigative journalism like this and this and this, which it places in various newspapers and magazines across the country.
A year ago today, the New York Observer wrote about AMI here (although it confuses my state of residence).
AMI relies on grants and donations to keep providing good journalism at a time when investigative work at regular daily papers is dying. If you want to see quality reporting continue and can spare a donation, please follow this link or contact Richard Miniter at rminiter@americanmediainstitute.com or at rminiter@gmail.com. Thank you very much.
