(May 6) In its obsessions with thought control and with having the state control and sexualize children, today’s political Left is effectuating precisely what the two seminal, anti-totalitarian novels of the last century warned against.
The Biden administration is at the vanguard of this radical Left.
In their Friday editorial, the Washington Examiner editors explain just how monstrous are the administration’s policy initiatives related to gender transitions for children . Please read it — every word. I write here just to note how the state-sponsored transgender craze and the related insistence on having public school teachers force approved gender ideology on young students, and otherwise hypersexualize them, is almost frighteningly similar to the nightmare described by Aldous Huxley in Brave New World.
“Outside, in the garden, it was playtime,” begins the book’s third chapter . “Naked in the warm June sunshine, six or seven hundred little boys and girls were running with shrill yells over the lawns … or squatting silently in twos and threes among the flowering shrubs.”
Then the “Director” of the school pointed out what he called “a charming little group”: “In a little grassy bay between tall clumps of Mediterranean heather, two children, a little boy of about seven and a little girl who might have been a year older, were playing, very gravely and with all the focused attention of scientists intent on a labour of discovery, a rudimentary sexual game.”
They were interrupted by howls from a different little boy being led away by a nurse. Asked what was wrong, the nurse said: “It’s just that this little boy seems rather reluctant to join in the ordinary erotic play. … I’m taking him in to see the Assistant Superintendent of Psychology.”….
Back then, the Left claimed Huxley’s dystopia misrepresented its aims. Today’s Left avidly pursues those aims, with the all-knowing state sexualizing children and undermining the family unit while telling parents to butt out.
Biden embraces this idea, as former New York Lt. Gov. Betsey McCaughey noted in a recent column. Biden, she wrote, “told a gathering of teachers and union bigwigs on April 27 that the kids are ‘yours when they’re in the classroom.’ That wasn’t just a Biden stumble. He repeated it for emphasis: ‘They are all our children. … They are not somebody else’s [read: the parents’] children.'”…. [The full column is here.]
