Yes, even those of us on the other side should care about what happens to the Democratic Party, and should wish that better people have a voice within it.
With that in mind, I urge everybody to root for long-shot presidential candidate Jim Webb to catch fire — and provide advice as to how he should do so. This isn’t so much about Webb as it about what’s good for America.

It needs leading Democrats who still accept (even if a bit uneasily) the basic tenets and restrictions of our Madisonian system — and who openly embrace the truth that the United States is and always has been the biggest force for good of any nation on Earth.
