I’ve never met Judith Hall, professor of psychology at Northeastern University. But I would like to hold a door open for her, into or out of any place with doors. And I hereby offer to buy her dinner, and to let her wear my jacket if she’s cold.  To understand why a gentleman should hold the door for Professor Hall in particular, read this. To understand why I in particular would like to hold the door for her, read this. (I just hope she doesn’t use gratuitous profanity at work. That would be sort of trashy — or, more precisely, offensive and obnoxious, and unprofessional. I wouldn’t expect that from a woman.)
